Battle Foam Now Sells Games Workshop Miniatures! But Why?

If you follow us on social media or subscribe to our newsletter, you might have already heard we're now selling Games Workshop miniatures!

This is a big step for us. Over the years, we’ve received tons of questions at conventions and through emails asking if we’d ever stock Warhammer products. Honestly, we never gave it serious thought until now.

At Battle Foam, we're hobbyists and gamers first. So when we saw the latest round of price increases across the industry, we felt it just like you did. Warhammer whether it’s Fantasy, 40k, or even classic HeroQuest, was the gateway into wargaming for many of us. And we know we’re not alone.

As a business, we understand the challenges behind rising costs of production, shipping, inflation, and so on. But we also know it’s frustrating for collectors and players when a hobby you love keeps getting more expensive.

That’s why we made the decision to step in and offer Games Workshop products ourselves. We’re doing it in the most helpful way we can by selling at the maximum discount allowed. That means 15% off MSRP everyday, but our VIP program takes it even further if you are a member.

Yes, margins are tight, especially with free shipping on orders over $99 and the logistics involved in processing and fulfilling orders, but making huge profits isn’t our motivation here. Don’t get us wrong, this is still a business, and we do profit, but our main goal is to support the community and make the hobby more accessible.

Looking ahead, we hope to expand into even more product lines, including TCGs and other miniature games. We’ve worked hard to build a reputation for quality and trust in the hobby space, and that won’t change. When you order from us, you aren't sacrificing service or transparency for a better price.

We want this hobby to thrive for years to come, and if we can help you build your army while saving a bit, then mission accomplished. We also hope you have some left to protect your newly purchased minis with the best storage available!

As Battle Foam gets ready to close out this month’s New
Releases for Warhammer: The Old World Miniature Storage, I wanted to reflect
back on not only the long-awaited release of the game, but Warhammer Fantasy in
general.

My very first miniatures game, aside from a small, unknown
board game called HeroQuest, was in fact, Warhammer Fantasy. The 5th edition Starter set, which
coincidentally had Bretonnia as one of its two factions, was my first glimpse
into the miniature world. Within my
group, I chose the Dwarves. I loved
their cannons, Bugman’s Brew, lore, and of course, the Book of Grudges.

Because I was only in middle school, it took awhile to grow
my Dwarven Army, but we played 2v2 often enough that my small force could team
up with Wood Elves or the Lizardmen other friends were playing. After playing for a couple of years, I eventually
moved onto other games, but Warhammer Fantasy was my first.

Fast forward to the Skaven and Games Workshop blowing up
Fantasy, giving us Age of Sigmar! This
reimagined game came with, as you can imagine, a slew of opposition from the
community, but it was good to see it garner a following after some new editions
and upgrades. The quality of the models were
great, but it didn’t match the rank and file and charm of Fantasy for me, so I
never really got back into it.

Shortly after starting my career in the world of Miniatures
Wargaming Storage with Battle Foam, there were rumblings of Games Workshop
bringing Fantasy back. It would be
called The Old World, and it would allow me to use my old miniatures as well as
bring out some new sculpts. I felt this
hybrid approach would be great, even if I had to rebase some units. My sea of gray would now be useful again.

Years went by without information, followed by teasers, and
now, finally, we have rules and a release!
I will patiently wait for my Dwarves to be released officially and get
their Arcane Journal. In the meantime, I
might get the Orcs and Goblins. They
were always fun to watch. It is nice to
come full circle with my first game 20+ years later.

Battle Foam will give each release its day in the Sun. We’ve already started with the Kingdom of
Bretonnia and Tomb Kings of Khemri. If
you are looking for the best miniature storage for your Warhammer Fantasy / The
Old World Minis, we have brand new Foam Load Outs for them. Don’t forget if you prefer magnetic storage,
our Magna Rack system works great with units on movement trays!

Now it is time to plan my lists, get my troops
ready to hold the line, and paint models that are 20+ years old!

If you have been part of the Battle Foam family since the
beginning, you know that our original bag color was Olive Green, not black. With our goal to provide the best miniature
storage in a high-quality and stylish way, what better way to hit that goal
than to bring the OG color back!

Over the years, we have released many other bag colors for
your hobby storage. Red, white, blue,
neon green, and of course various camouflage patterns have all been available
in the past. However, our staple has
always been black. It goes with
everything and has been our universal go-to palette.

Now, as we approach our 15th Anniversary here at
Battle Foam, we decided to revisit the Original and bring back Olive Green in
our most popular P.A.C.K. Bags!
Available in our P.A.C.K. 1520XL, P.A.C.K. 720, P.A.C.K. 352, and P.A.C.K.
Plus, you can now protect your miniatures in one of the best quality bags in our
most classic color.

Whether you are looking to store and protect Warhammer 40k,
30k Horus Heresy, Age of Sigmar, BattleTech, Kill Team, Marvel Crisis Protocol,
Infinity, Star Wars Legion, Warmachine, Flames of War, or any other miniatures
game played by few or many, we have enough options of bag size to provide the
perfect solution.

The Olive Green bags can be purchased with a few different
Load Out options. Whether you want it
Empty to use foam you already own, take advantage of our ready-to-go Standard
or Pluck Foam Load Outs, make/pick your own trays with our Custom Load Out, or
hop onto magnetic storage with our Magna Racks, the choice is yours!

Storing your miniatures safely at home, for a trip to your
Local Game Store, or even a long flight to a big Convention or Tournament is
our mantra. The Battle Foam way is to
make it easy, abundant in options, high-quality so you can trust your choice to
last, and appealing enough to be proud to carry around.

It's ok if it doesn't but make sure you use 2 sheets if models bleed over.

We want to leave the ruler area alone so we can check measurements during the scanning to digital process. Don't be too tight that the final shape is too snug, but don't be too loose as to let the model move around too much in the shape.

My Dear Battle Foam Customers,

Your Foamy Overlord is here with another Battle Foam Blog
filled with insight and adventure. As you may or may not know, Battle Foam
started back in January of 2009. Being the only employee, I quickly forced my
lovely wife to quit her job and join me on this crazy idea. Soon after Battle
Foam went viral, and the rest is history.

As a strong-armed Overlord, I always believed sales of any
type would damage the value of a business. I looked at brands like Ferrari,
Rolex, Gucci, Apple, and similar high-end brands. Those companies never have
sales on new items and rarely care what people think of discounts or deals.
They stick to the concept that if they make a good product, customers will pay regardless
of price.

In some ways that totally makes sense to me. High-end items
cost more because they require better materials, better production for an
overall superior finished product. Those
are qualities my team and I strive for daily. However, I also understand everyone
loves a good sale or discount. Deals are fun and make you feel like you got a
little something extra for your dollar.

So as an owner and creator of products at Battle Foam, I
debated this exact point for years. Not only did my wife and CFO suggest we
offer discounts, but our customers requested them. It took years until Battle
Foam had its first sale. As a company, we didn’t hold a sale on any of our
products until November of 2013 almost 4 years after the company launched. When
I look back on that I find it crazy that I was able to win an argument with my
wife for almost 4 years. That alone is something rarely seen in any marriage
regardless of what is on the table.

Now let us move forward to 2021 and how Battle Foam has
grown and listened to its customers. As the Foamy Overlord of our company, I
found that everyone who loves Battle Foam loves it regardless of price. Fans
and customers just want high quality goods to protect their minis, and we
provide that. Knowing this I realized years ago that offering our awesome
customers discounts just made sense. Giving great people a break on price was
not something negative but a huge positive for the company and our growth.

So not only did we start having normal sales over the past
several years, but we included great discounts for special people. If you are
or were in the military, you can get 15% off. First responders receive a 15%
discount, and our VIP Club program gives every member 5% off daily plus on all
sale discounts as an added bonus.

The most exciting part about the current mindset at Battle
Foam is that rewarding our customers will always result in rewards for us. For
that reason, we have now created five sales that will happen every year going
forward. Here is a list of those:

-The
Battle Foam VIP’s SALE (for VIP Club Member’s) – February

-The
Battle Foam Spring Sale – March
