Ships great, accessories not so much

Posted by Buhallin on 1st Mar 2013

As reported above, the ship tray is outstanding. The cuts are perfectly shaped, and deep enough to hold everything. Unfortunately, the problems with the accessories tray are too generous, if anything. My damage, upgrade, and ship cards wouldn't fit at all, sleeves or not. I also would have appreciated some divisions for the ship markers to allow organization, and possibly a better solution for movement dials.

    Has space for everything

Posted by Matt on 24th Feb 2013

This set is indeed an all-in-one pack, at least through Wave 2. The troughs on the left side hold all of the tokens and maneuver templates. The long trough along the top holds the range ruler and small ship bases while the slightly shorter trough holds the maneuver dials. The small ship inserts go in the short troughs on the right side while the dice go in either the token trough or the small trough in the middle. The larger "square" in the middle holds the inserts and bases for the large ships and all the cards go in the appropriately sized notched spaces. Agree that sleeved cards just don't fit right, but still better than having them slide all around. All in all, a great product that holds everything I need to play in one convenient package...now need to figure out how to get the cloth starscape to fit :-)

    Great

Posted by Ian on 20th Feb 2013

I just got this tray, and as others have mentioned you can stack several of the ships. This is the reason I am writing this review since you can make custom loadouts for the trays I thought it would be useful to know how many ships can fit in each slot. I currently do not have access to the a wing set of ships, so I will update this list when I get them. Only 1 ship per slot Tie Fighter 2 ships per slot Tie Advanced X wing 3 ships per slot Y wing

    Great Foam Set

Posted by Nate on 9th Feb 2013

I like the foam set. It is well cut. Like mentioned in the other review the slots are deep so that you can stack a lot of the ships. Because of the deep slots it can be dificult to remove the ships. A friend pointed out if you put the ships in upside down you can grab the mounting peg to remove them easier (I had planned on getting some tweezers). I hope that Battle Foam makes an alternate bag for this, I would rather have a pocket that can hold 9 card pocket protector pages (I use them for pilot cards, one sleeve per ship type).

The ship tray is great, but the accessories tray has a couple of issues

Posted by Eric on 16th Dec 2012

As you can see from the picture, the ship tray has enough room to hold a ton of the Wave 1 and Wave 2 ships. All of the ships fit perfectly in their assigned slots and the tray is deep enough that you can even double-stack most of them for even more storage. Unfortunately, the accessories tray isn't as perfect. The slots for the damage/upgrade cards don't seem big enough for cards in sleeves. If you don't sleeve your cards that's no big deal. The tray also isn't deep enough to hold all of the cards (for EVERY option and pilot) that go with the associated ships in the ship tray. The other, bigger problem with the accessories tray (at least for me) is that there is no slot for the Wave 2 big ship bases and base inserts. Still, this is a pretty good value overall. The build quality is excellent (as expected from Battlefoam) but those like me looking for an "all-in-one" solution for their complete X-Wing collection may be better off grabbing the ship tray and going with a bigger bag (perhaps the Pack Plus?).
