PHR Load Out
There are a decent amount of pros for this bag but it is not completely without a few cons either so lets dive in. Lets start with the pros. 1. Battlefoam's foam is second to none. I have used a variety of different foam cases from different companies and none of them can top BF's foam. It is rigid, solid, yet not abrasive. 2. The bag has good, solid lining walls. This ensures added protection from bangs and drops. It also allows the bad to stand on it's side and not be all floppy. 3. I got the PHR load out and so the trays are decent enough where I can pack a decent sized fleet. 4. The pluck foam tray is a nice addition for other ships which they have not cut slots for (more in the cons section about this) Now lets hit a few of the cons 1. This bag is really only suited for 3 types of ships: standard cruiser footprint, standard frigate footprint (more on this in a moment), and a standard battleship (more on this as well). This does not allow for pre-cut slots for the likes of cutters, monitors, destroyers, or harpocrates. 2. In regards to the frigate slots, the slots are designed for frigates that do NOT had the underside tail fin. Unless you glued it on in a very streamlined position, it will not fit in the frigate slot. 3. The battleship slot is quite tight. It isn't like bending the model or foam tight but the ship fits in there quite snug so if you plan to use a battleship a lot in this case, make sure it is properly sealed to protect your paint job from the constant friction of placement/removal from the tray. Now there are a few oddballs bits that aren't exactly pros but aren't exactly cons either. 1. The pouches on the side are a nice touch but are kind of small for any serious use. 2. There are a lot of square slots cut into the trays throughout this set. I know some are for launch assets but I don't think we need THAT many squares across 3 trays. I MUCH rather would have had ships slots for a few of the ship types listed in the cons section. Overall though, I am please with my purchase of this bag. It does have it's short comings but it does exactly what I need it to do and I am not disappointed.
