The Game Box Sea Fleet Foam Trays are designed to work with the new Dread Fleet board game. Both trays will fit the entire content of the box and will allow for easy fit inside your official game box. The first tray will hold all ten ships included with the game as well as the large island terrain piece. The second tray will hold the remainder of the terrain pieces along with game cards, dice, measuring markers, and small game pieces.
(Please note because of the massive size of the game contents the foam trays will not allow the game box lid to completely close flush. The top box lid will sit about 3/4 inch higher than normal due to the trays being placed inside.)
Note: This kit was not designed to fit sleeved cards.

I would always recommended Battle Foam!
Un indispensable pour ranger le matériel de dreadfleet en toute sécurité. Juste dommage que certains des petitd éléments soient délicats à extraire de la mousse si l'on a de gros doigts.
The foam mold fit all components of the Dreadfleet game within the game box as described. This delicate models are protected with being stored in a compact manner within the game box. Please note the the foam will cause the lid to sit about a couple inches higher.
After buying and painting up my Dreadfleet set, I knew I needed a good storage solution. The Battle Foam is carved out to provide perfect protection to the various ships and pieces, and even though it protrudes above the rim of the box just slightly, it feels really good and solid. I would absolutely buy this again!
Yes it is definately a little thicker than you think it will be but the box itself is pretty thick so it still closes most of the way, it's a non-issue for me. I couldn't imagine spending the time to paint all those ships just to have them thump around in the box, you've got to have something to protect them and this is the perfect solution. I also want to give some props to the staff at Battle Foam. There was some kind of mix up and my order hadn't been completed after several weeks, so I called them and they were very helpful and sympathetic. My order got shipped out the same day I called and showed up on my porch 2 days later.
I just finished painting my Dreadfleet, and I really like hwo this kit protects the delicate ships and paint jobs. My kit is somewhat different from the pictures above. I have extra spaces for cogs, so all of the cogs have their own space. The cavity for the Skaven ship seems designed wrong. Either that, or I put my flagpole on the ship on wrong. But mine looks right, and the whole thing really fits only in one way. I had to take the bread knife to the foam to cut out the section in between the tail and the flag for my ship to fit. It was easy enough to do and looks just fine. What does not fit in the tray, in order of how big of a deal I think it is: 1. There is no space for the dwarf shipwreck. 2. There are no spaces for the treasure markers\goblets. 3. The wind marker and turn tools are all going in the same space. Since these are painted pieces this is less desirable. The below stuff is only mentioned for completeness and doesn't bother me at all: 4. There is no good space for the ruler. The provided space does not take into account that the ruler is not meant to be taken apart and doesn't fold up to fit the space the way it's designed. A simple solution is to bend the ruler and just put it on top, and this works fine. 5. There is no space in the foam for the book and the sheet, so you need to put these in between, like the ruler. The foam does go above the box a fair amount, but it seems so strong that even stacking games on top of the box should be fine. All in all: great foam, but I wish it fit all of Dreadfleet, not just most, in separate sections.
I just received my foam insert today. I was pleasantly surprised by the the quality of the foam. It was much more dense and sturdier than I expected. I think it will hold up nicely over a long time. Also, the shipping was very quick.
I am impressed with the quality on BF's trays, the cuts are excellent and the pieces fit well. However, I wish they had been more creative in selecting the thickness of the trays. One tray needed to be as thick as they are as one of the islands is very tall (also the stack of small cards all together is equally tall), however many of the remaining models are much thinner in the trays, and when the game is closed with map and rules, there's a nearly 2-inch (3/4" in the product description is an error) gap. Some of the minis are lost in these thick trays and are a bit of a pain to pull out, given that the delicate masts and such will catch the foam. But the real reason this doesn't get five stars from me is that both trays are equally thick, and didn't need to be. If they'd been a bit more thoughtful in making this product, I suspect my box could almost close.
I spent a month of painting like a maniac so I could finish everything that this game came with. If you did the same, these trays are a must ! Every thing fits perfect ...the only thing I didn't like is the box doesn't shut all the way ... they said it was a 3/4 of an inch difference buts it was a lot more . Its ok , all the ships fit in and I'm a happy camper !
