Death Guard: Myphitic Blight-Hauler

Selected as the premier heralds of Nurgle—the Chaos God of Pestilence and Decay—the Death Guard rank among the nine original Traitor Legions that turned against the Imperium during the Horus Heresy. Initially called the Dusk Raiders, the XIV Legion assumed the title of Death Guard upon reuniting with their Primarch, Mortarion, during the Great Crusade.

Famed for their exceptional endurance, the Death Guard built their reputation on relentless attrition tactics and immunity to toxic environments long before their corruption. Upon receiving Nurgle's dark blessings, their physical resilience expanded exponentially, deadening their nervous systems and eliminating all sensation of pain.

Accompanied by swarms of plague-born horrors, the Death Guard deploy buzzing Daemon Engines to scout ahead while heavy artillery crawlers bombard enemy lines from the rear. Blighted thralls stumble toward opposing defenses as Warp-born entities materialize from pools of sludge, all commanded by the winged Daemon Primarch Mortarion.

Following the destruction of Cadia and the tearing open of the Great Rift, the Death Guard have emerged from the Plague Planet in full force, corrupting Imperial worlds and showering Nurgle's horrific contagions across the stars.
